Our client wanted highly detailed and accurate predictions of schedule and cost impacts in real-time for over 400 line items. The project was the most complex hospitality project our company had encountered and the client requested a level of prediction accuracy that didn't exist in the industry.
We had to find a way to give our client schedule and cost impact predictions that would be extremely accurate because our team would have to meet those schedule marks on the job site. If we could predict schedule and cost impacts ahead of time, we would decrease time to project completion, increase our company's profits, and guarantee future work from our client.
I and another team member created a product that automated communications between the project schedule and real-time progress in the field. The product calculated time impacts for each step of approval and installation and identified where time could be saved. The new technical capabilities we developed allowed us to predict time and cost impacts with minimal user input and maximum data output.
